I've just run into the same problem after upgrading 2 different
notebooks to the latest "testing". Any attempt to change anything
keyboard-related in the gnome configuration (e.g., through
"desktop|preferences|keyboard|layout options") immediately kills X
server for me.

On one of the notebooks, where keyboard has been customized through
gnome before upgrade, the upgrade resulted in inability to login to
the gnome session with customized keyboard (login kills X), until I
manually removed $(HOME)/gconf/gnome/peripherals directory containing
keyboard customizations.

BTW, where can I get 2.2-1 libxklavier10 package to fix this for now?
