Package: aptitude
Version: 0.4.1-1
Severity: wishlist

Excellent improvements made to this utility since version 4.0+ release. The
only missing feature,
it seems, would be the capability to display the cause of broken packages
listed byexecuting
aptitude search ~b. At present, I've found the easiest/speediest way of
determining this is by
doing a:
··
$ apt-get install -f <package>
··
which will usually reveal the root of the problem. Adding this diagnostic
feature to aptitude would
be a nice time saving enhancement.
