Hi Jan, thanks for your support and patience all this time.

I'd like to ask you to hold one more jot of patience. The upgrade to
Xorg 7.0 has brought complications left, right and centre, not just to
Xprint. Fonts are still being brought into line, libxfont needs to be
brought up to the forthcoming 7.1 version. I left a note in the
changelog and at http://wiki.debian.org/Xprint that Xprint has degraded
with Xorg7.0, but I believe it will bounce back to its previous "glory"
once Debian gets 7.1 into its system (it's due for release upstream next
month). Of course you of all people know that it's former state
certainly had issues.

The reason I'm optimistic about 7.1 is that I've grabbed it from CVS,
and the mozilla printing output looks alright. It certainly didn't have
the problems we now see with 7.0, and it even seemed to repair the
problem printing the Debian home page.

The FreeType method you mentioned at 9.3.2 looks promising, and I
understand mozilla is planning to switch to Cairo for printing in
firefox 2. All the same if you don't mind I'd like to drop you a line
once I think Xprint from Xorg7.1 is running OK. We should at least
manage to get it working as well as it did in X11R6.

I've asked X.org for CVS write permission so I can help bring it up to
full correct functionality, but as you said it's not a high priority for
them, so I'm still waiting to hear back from them.

Thanks again for all your patience. I guess I'm just trying to say the
last straw was really no straw, so wait just a little longer. The real
last straw is still coming :)

Drew
