gtkmathview uses pangox internally. pangox is no longer maintained and we want to remove it from Debian. Ideally gtkmathview should stop using pangox, perhaps by using one of the other pango backends.
Unless you object (please CC me, I'm not subscribed), I am going to ask ftp-master to remove pangox-compat from Debian in two weeks from now. As gtkmathview has a build dependency on libpangox-1.0-dev it would need to get removed too.
