Package: winbind
Version: 3.0.22-1
Severity: minor

I actually use the "minor" severity because most admins who use winbind will
certainly properly setup the needed parameters, but actually winbind crashes
and calls its panic action script with ou default smb.conf file (which has
the required "idmap uid" and "idmap gid" parameters commented):

The log files says, of course:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/var/log/samba# tail log.winbindd
winbindd: idmap uid range missing or invalid
[2006/04/25 18:44:43, 0] nsswitch/winbindd_util.c:winbindd_param_init(782)
winbindd: cannot continue, exiting.
[2006/04/25 18:44:43, 1] nsswitch/winbindd.c:main(1011)
Could not init idmap -- netlogon proxy only

The machine did properly join the domain before trying to launch winbind, so
this is different from the usual "winbind crashes when the samba machine has
not joined the domain yet".
