I'm not sure this should actually go to user-setup. The main reported issue is the "brokeness" of what's displayed and the bad handling of non ASCII characters. So, in short, a well known issue, which probably belongs to cdebconf or newt Once that issue solved, then we'll be able to actually really check what user-setup is doing with non ASCII input (not sure that adduser will accept it for the user real name). --
