Beware that raw is essential. Worse, it is really hard to find in scripts and other things due to its short name. Removing it will be non-trivial. I suggest asking d-devel@l.d.o for confirmation first. debianutils has dropped tempfile and that didn't go too well. Also adding NEWS likely is helpful. As much as I hope that nobody uses raw, I don't believe it. Better communicate this well than receive a tech-ctte bug over it. Helmut
