No, login works. So, yes, my original report wasn't precise enough. I
can login, but not start my kde.

They were localized. I have to recreate the problem to get them.

It simply does nothing. It starts as it should, changes the screen for a
second and then falls back to console.

But unfortunately that's the way it is. There is nothing in the logs.

After looking into your changes I tend to agree. But the downgrade did
solve the problem.
