Package: ftp.debian.org
Severity: normal

Hi!
Please remove memkind (libmemkind-dev, libmemkind-progs, libmemkind0) on
s390x. There's no use for that package there, and we also can't test it.

On Debian, s390 kernels are built without CONFIG_NUMA, which is required
for the package to work (during tests/at runtime). We perhaps could leave
the package as a courtesy for Ubuntu who define CONFIG_NUMA=y, but after
asking around, I see there's no NUMA exposed to Linux on s390 hardware.
There's also no hardware (or at least, support in any kernels) for other
kinds of memory memkind can use: pmem, HBW.

There's also no effort towards supporting any of these, as far as I can
tell -- in stark contrast to IBM folks doing a lot of stuff for ppc64el.

As the package is already not available on some archs (!32-bit), it has
no value as a stub that compiles but performs no useful function.
