Package: post-el
Version: 2004.07.23-2
Severity: important

When I call post-el from mutt an emacs window pops up as expected and I am able
to compose my message. However, when I hit C-c C-c to save and send, it fails
and I get a message:

post-body-says-attach: Wrong type argument: stringp, 0

Sometimes 'stringp' is replaced by an 'arrayp'

If I save the buffer anyway (it goes to /tmp) and close emacs the file is added
to the email as an attachment. This appears to send successfully.

If it helps...

I had a similar issue with another mode once (see the discussion at
http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-lilypond/2006-03/msg00020.html ). It
turned out lilypond-mode tries to set a file name, which doesn't work if the
buffer isn't associated with a file--in that case I would be calling
lilypond-mode from *scratch*.

In the post-el case the buffer is *composing* (with no associated file name)
and I can't help but notice that I get the same result.

Incidentally, the lilypond-mode problem only surfaced after I installed
emacs-snapshot, but the emacs-snapshot maintainer believes that the bug is with
the mode, and not emacs (see bug #353712.)

Any ideas or workarounds?

Thanks for your time!
