Package: ruby-kramdown Version: 2.3.1-2 Hi,
aptitude refused to upgrade ruby-kramdown initially, because I have the package "kramdown" installed and it has a hard dependency on "ruby-kramdown (= 2.3.0-5)". It seems that the package "kramdown" is no more built by the ruby-kramdown source package. This opens a bunch of questions about this questionable change: * Why is it removed at all? * Why is this not mentioned in the according debian/changelog entry? * Why is there no transitional package? So please either: * Reinstantiate the kramdown package (my preferred choice), or * if you really want to get rid of, at least provide a transitional package for the period of one Debian Stable release. And: * Mention (potentially retroactively) in the debian/changelog that and why it was removed or at least that it is now (i.e. with a future upload) a transitional package plus the reason for that. -- System Information: Debian Release: bookworm/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (990, 'unstable'), (600, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable-debug'), (500, 'buildd-unstable'), (110, 'experimental'), (1, 'experimental-debug'), (1, 'buildd-experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 5.13.0-trunk-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU threads) Locale: LANG=C.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=C.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: sysvinit (via /sbin/init) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages ruby-kramdown depends on: ii libjs-jquery 3.5.1+dfsg+~3.5.5-7 ii ruby 1:2.7+2 ii ruby-coderay 1.1.3-4 ii ruby-prawn 2.3.0+dfsg-1 ii ruby-prawn-table 0.2.2-1 ii ruby-rouge 3.21.0-1 ii ruby-stringex 2.8.5-1 ruby-kramdown recommends no packages.
