Reading the dpkg-maintscript-helper manual page, it appears the value for prior-version for wireplumber should have been 0.4.2-2~ instead of 0.4.2-1~ but if you plan to upload a -3 it should be 0.4.2-3~ since: https://manpages.debian.org/bullseye/dpkg/dpkg-maintscript-helper.1.en.html#COMMON_PARAMETERS If the conffile has not been shipped for several versions, and you are now modifying the maintainer scripts to clean up the obsolete file, prior-version should be based on the version of the package that you are now preparing, not the first version of the package that lacked the conffile. This applies to all other actions in the same way. -- bye, pabs https://wiki.debian.org/PaulWise
