Package: glusterfs-server
Version: 9.2-1
Severity: wishlist

Dear Maintainer,

the package glusterfs-server provides the whole gluster command line utility
[0].
This includes the remote-host functions.

I think it would be useful to separate these command line functions out of
glusterfs-server into a separate package glusterfs-cli. One use case is
listing all available volumes on a remote Gluster cluster
> gluster --remote-host=192.168.0.150 volume list
so that one of them can be mounted without having the whole Gluster server
installed.

It is implemented this way in, for example, Fedora [1].
Kaleb S. KEITHLEY mentioned in Gluster Slack #development that the Gluster
Community packages would follow the lead of the Debian/Ubuntu packaging bits
in this case.
