Package: cdtool Version: 2.1.8-release-8 Severity: normal Justification: grave for the only tool that depends on it, but the rest of the cdtool package is unaffected
Dear maintainer, The cdown command is for querying the database hosted on freedb.freedb.org, but that hostname no longer resolves. Also, https://www.freedb.org/ now redirects to gnudb.org, which has info on the server shutdown. The hostname is hardcoded into the binary, and the tool works when given the command-line options "-H gnudb.gnudb.org -P 8880". This tool also has problems with non-ASCII characters, so personally I'll be looking at switching to one of the rdeps of libcddb2 instead.
