Package: bird2 Version: 2.0.7-4.1~bpo10+2 Severity: important Tags: ipv6 upstream
When Specifing an hostname as remote in the RPKI protocol which resolves to an IPv6 only host, the address is truncated. E.g. "rpki.example.com" resolves to 2001:DB8:a:b:c:d:e:f, in tcpdump it is visible that bird tries to contact 2001:db8:a:b:: If the IPv6 address is specified directly, this does not occur. The bug is fixed in bird 2.0.8, which is not available under debian. The Problem is probably related to https://gitlab.nic.cz/labs/bird/-/commit/3b62417c356796a35229ce07238abf98fb569ccb -- System Information: Debian Release: 10.10 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.19.0-17-amd64 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Kernel taint flags: TAINT_UNSIGNED_MODULE Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=C.UTF-8 (charmap=locale: Cannot set LC_MESSAGES to default locale: No such file or directory locale: Cannot set LC_ALL to default locale: No such file or directory UTF-8), LANGUAGE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=locale: Cannot set LC_MESSAGES to default locale: No such file or directory locale: Cannot set LC_ALL to default locale: No such file or directory UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages bird2 depends on: ii adduser 3.118 ii init-system-helpers 1.56+nmu1 ii libc6 2.30-4 ii libreadline7 7.0-5 ii libssh-gcrypt-4 0.9.4-1 ii libtinfo6 6.1+20181013-2+deb10u2 ii lsb-base 10.2019051400 ii ucf 3.0038+nmu1 bird2 recommends no packages.
