Lintian gained a facility recently [1] that makes granting such extensions a breeze. The goal is to accommodate toolchains or upstream package sets that are out of Debian's control, and hence hard to fix. Do you have a way to identify the class of packages affected? For an example related to Emacs, please see here. [2] You can simply respond to this bug if you would like to explore a solution for Eolian. Otherwise, please feel free to close this bug. Thank you!
