The package libpmix-dev comes with a pkg-config file to get compilation flags. When I first installed the package, I got the following when trying to get the flags: % pkg-config --libs pmix Package libevent was not found in the pkg-config search path. Perhaps you should add the directory containing `libevent.pc' to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable The file libevent.pc is in libevent-dev package. I installed it, and now: % pkg-config --libs pmix -lpmix -lhwloc -levent -lz which is the expected result.
