bbmail has not seen a new upstream release since 2007, and upstream seems to have stopped working on bbtools long long time ago. Furthermore, bbmail was orphaned 5 years ago (see #832561), and at the time of this writing has a popcon count of 14. Hence, it looks to me it would be a better idea to simply remove bbmail from Debian, as I'm sure alternatives to this exist and are more maintained. Please also close #832561 when RM'ing bbmail.
