Package: libx11-6 Version: 6.9.0.dfsg.1-6 Severity: normal I thrashed this out with ion's author, who, when I asked what bug I should file, said:
"Something about Xmb drawing routines routines substituting high characters for two ascii characters in utf-8 locale with some fonts." For the record, it doesn't seem to matter which font I use, but in ion window titles, the (TM) character is drawn as "b, (quote-b), which happen to be the third and first characters for UTF-8 (TM) respectively, when you AND them with 0x7f. (The second character anded with 0x7f is 4). In this csae I was using Skype, which was trying to display "Skype(TM)". I checked that its atoms had the right type (COMPOUND_TEXT for WM_NAME and WM_ICON_NAME). -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.12-hibernate Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages libx11-6 depends on: ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.4.72 Debian configuration management sy ii libc6 2.3.6-7 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii x11-common 6.9.0.dfsg.1-6 X Window System (X.Org) infrastruc ii xlibs-data 6.9.0.dfsg.1-6 X Window System client data libx11-6 recommends no packages. -- debconf information: libx11-6/migrate_xkb_dir: true -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
