Package: nethack-console Version: 3.6.6-2 Severity: normal It seems so that the build does not properly enable ncurses:
export NETHACKOPTIONS=windowtype:curses tobi@isildor:/usr/lib/games/nethack$ nethack * Window type curses not recognized. Choices are: tty, X11. 1 error in NETHACKOPTIONS. I tried tinkering with d/rules but did not get it to compile with curses… While tinkering I saw that the debian rules uses the "old" build system (as in $SRCDIR/sys/unix/Install.unx), I couldn't get it to work with that one. I could get it working with ncurses using the "new one" as in ($SRCDIR/sys/unix/NewInstall.unx), though… Possibly it would be good to invest some time in upgrading the packaging to that one… -- System Information: Debian Release: bullseye/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 5.10.0-5-amd64 (SMP w/12 CPU threads) Kernel taint flags: TAINT_PROPRIETARY_MODULE, TAINT_OOT_MODULE, TAINT_UNSIGNED_MODULE Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages nethack-console depends on: ii libc6 2.31-11 ii libncurses6 6.2+20201114-2 ii libtinfo6 6.2+20201114-2 ii nethack-common 3.6.6-2 nethack-console recommends no packages. nethack-console suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
