You're right. perhaps we should do that in the example action script and
close the bug.
I would simply close this bug. I do not think its valid. The script is
example only, why make it more complex?

suggested as a mode of operation?
Well, I think we should still do that. I think we mentioned several
times, that the examples are only able to show how things can work in
simple cases. We cannot provide solution for complex cases within the
framework if ifupdown alone. Action script can provide hooks for
implementing that.
But suggesting it has caused a few people to think its providing a
roaming solution, when it is not.
