Now I'm quite sure, though, that your problem is the same as http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=361995, only for task lists. Follow the instructions for that bug to avoid further data loss. http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=341969 is probably also the same problem. In your case, "gconftool -g /apps/evolution/tasks/sources" will give you the information you need to see what's wrong. If it's not the same, or you can't follow the instructions, please report back.
