Well, doesn't seem obvious to me. These "segfault" bugs anyway always look similar. I actually don't understand what exactly you mean by "when using Swat". What are the successive actions to reproduce the bug. It is reproducible ? If so, can you install the samba-dbg package and reproduce it again. Also, please try to update to 3.0.22-1 which is in testing. I know that updating a production server may not be trivial but that'd help figuring out whether the bug is still there.
