Package: r-cran-littler Version: 0.3.12-1 Severity: wishlist File: /usr/bin/r
Dear Dirk, I was looking into some of my executables and discovered that /usr/bin/r is not stripped and it contains debugging info on my system: ,----[ file /usr/bin/r ] | /usr/bin/r: ELF 64-bit LSB pie executable, x86-64, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked, interpreter /lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2, BuildID[sha1]=36aeb221c38bd7fdf3140a4c6481ff739573e634, for GNU/Linux 3.2.0, with debug_info, not stripped `---- Is it desired? I would have expected it to work (as usual) with a -dbgsym package being created if so needed (with all the justifications there). Thanks for caring about R in Debian, Rogério Brito. -- System Information: Debian Release: bullseye/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing'), (200, 'unstable'), (150, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 5.10.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU threads) Kernel taint flags: TAINT_FIRMWARE_WORKAROUND Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=pt_BR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_US.UTF-8 Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages r-cran-littler depends on: ii libc6 2.31-9 ii r-base-core [r-api-4.0] 4.0.4-1 r-cran-littler recommends no packages.
