The menu icon for .desktop doesn't show up for me (in XFCE). It should be grouped in "System" rather than "Other". The package's short desc shouldn't be capitalized. The long desc shouldn't mention that this program started as an university assignment, it's a bit of history not relevant to using the program. Some method of su{,do}-to-root should be providen -- as is, the program fails to start claiming it needs root, and starting it as root manually involves some bits generally unknown by users who need a clicky-clicky tool (ie, the intended audience). When deleting an user ("gnats" in my case) it threw a message that /home/gnats doesn't exist -- despite $HOME for that user being /var/lib/gnats (obtainable by getpwent()->pw_dir).
