Thanks for the suggestion.

I have decided to wontfix this request.  As I understand it, qt has
officially blessed cmake as the new replacement for qmake now.  While
qmake is still supported, I expect it to dwindle in popularity over
time.  Also, given that no one (including the past and present debhelper
maintainer) has stepped up to get the issues clarified and a patch
written for this bug, it seems unlikely it will happen before cmake
replaces qmake.

If a well tested patch appear, I am open to reconsider the wontfix.
