Go ahead, Norbert. I do not have time now to dedicate to the tipa package. There will be perhaps new bugs introduced by your changes and I hope that you will be able to promptly fix them. In this case, just act as you were the maintainer and NMU without asking permission. If you do so, I would appreciate receiving notes about what you will have done.
