Package: ganeti Version: 3.0.1-1 Severity: important Tags: Patch Dear maintainers,
when using ganeti with a lvm backed disk template like plain, the subsequent creation of volumes fails due to signatures left on the disk with "WARNING: Device creation failed". The reason for this seems to be a changed behavior of lvcreate in Bullseye (compared to all previous Debian releases): lvcreate will now abort with exit code 5 when a preexisting signature was detected on the physical volume. Before Bullseye, the command showed the very same warning but then successfully continued with the creation of the volume. This has also been reported upstream: https://github.com/ganeti/ganeti/issues/1585 and a patch that supresses signature checking is available in this pull request: https://github.com/ganeti/ganeti/pull/1586 The patch was tested with Buster and Bullseye and just works on both. -- Adi
