So, I'd prefer not to upload/maintain this backport myself as I have
not used MySQL/MariaDB in many years now. However, other solutions I
might be able to help with include:

* Checking whether the Conflicts: can be removed or loosened to
  include 1.3.10-2. I seem to be fairly confident in #931592 that it
  is, but it is worth checking as I may have been ventriloquising
  someone or something else. (Maybe it's earlier versions that are
  the problem, for example?)

* Whether this version of Django could be patched to support version
  the version 1.3.10-2.

I don't have a MySQL setup to hand (and I suspect you do…?), hence
slightly throwing this back to you in the first instance...
