I was hoping to also fix https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=970692 for stable, but the change has proven non-trivial to backport. So things got hung up there. I'll see about fixing 970386. There's an upcoming buster point release, but odds of getting it prepared, tested, approved, and uploaded in time are pretty slim. noah
