The reason is that we hit the limit at $work and so have been manually maintaining a rebuild with the patch for a while, which breaks things briefly after security updates in oldstable/stable, so having the patch in Debian would be helpful. We are using the Perl bindings so we couldn't use the command-line option to override the limit and the Perl bindings didn't have support for overriding the limit. We got file upstream to increase the default limit, got Christoph to backport the limit to bullseye and got the Perl bindings upstream to add support for overriding the limit. -- bye, pabs https://wiki.debian.org/PaulWise
