When started, emacs-gtk (Bullseye, testing) shows a window beginning Warning Warning!!! Pure space overflow !!!Warning Warning (See the node Pure Storage in the Lisp manual for details.) followed by the standard emacs Help window stuff. The node Pure Storage in the Lisp manual says " ... Emacs will display a warning about the overflow when it starts. If this happens, you should increase the compilation parameter SYSTEM_PURESIZE_EXTRA in the file src/puresize.h and rebuild Emacs." I do not know what the implications of Pure Space overflow are but presumably bad things happen in some circumstances. However emacs is working for me so I suppose the circumstances are not all that common.
