My router has several USB dongles configured via /etc/network/interfaces as AP each using an "hostapd /etc/hostapd/dongle1.conf" statement and method manual. All interfaces are bridged together with a "bridge_ports regex (en|wl).*" statement via br0. If the WiFi dongles are declared on the allow-hotplug line, the IPv6 fe80 local link is created for each one. If the dongles are not declared there, but instead brought up by the bridge using "post-up ifup dongle1 dongle2" the local IPv6 link is not created. Instead, the dongles are covered by the local link for br0 (extrapolated via bridge_hw xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx). Meanwhile, all of the Ethernet cards connected to the same bridge and brought up via allow-hotplug never get the fe80 local link.
