Do  you mean by explicitly allowing it?

This works as expected (and I guess intended) for me.

fftest.html has <img src="http://foo.justinpryzby.com/apache.png";>, where
foo.justinpryzby.com is actually on a host with the same IP address (virtual
host or whatever you call it), and justinpryzby.com just uses wildcard DNS.

Someone should test whether this works when the subdomain isn't the same IP
address; I can't think of an easy way for me to do this ..
