Hi Helmut, thanks for the report, indeed, indeed. I looked into the deps and you are seemingly right:
* libgd-dev used by dvipng which is separately packages, but too old there * libgs-dev dvisvgm * libncurses5-dev nobody seems to need it * libpotrace-dev dvisvgm separate * libwoff-dev dvisvgm * libxxhash-dev dvisvgm * sharutils uuen/decode for binary files in debian/ can be done differently (include-binaries) * texinfo no idea what this was used for * time no idea why Most libs were used for dvisvgm which was split out some time ago. libgd is for dvipng which is build separately (but the Debian package is out of date compared to the TL version, so I might build it from TL). sharutils is a left over from debian.diff.gz times where binaries couldn't be included (the packages have 15 years with not too much changes). texinfo no idea, time the same I will check with the dvipng maintainers, and upload a package with reduced deps.
