Hi, Thanks for resolving this bug I filed 5 years ago. I am still alive.
For what it's worth, I am now on an installation of Debian a few months newer than when I filed this bug, with xdg-open 1.1.3, using AwesomeWM, and I haven't had any problems with xdg-open since I filed this bug. Not sure that I was even able to replicate, or else I would have replied before.
