Sorry, I do not fully understand your question. main.cpp surely was a regular file. At least, stat(1) reports the following. (chrooted)builder@barberry:/$ LANG=C stat /proc/8744/root/tmp/tmp.I6YfrNUQO3/main.cpp File: /proc/8744/root/tmp/tmp.I6YfrNUQO3/main.cpp Size: 27 Blocks: 8 IO Block: 4096 regular file Device: 1eh/30d Inode: 11269092 Links: 1 Access: (0664/-rw-rw-r--) Uid: ( 1000/ builder) Gid: ( 1000/ builder) Access: 2020-12-28 21:01:18.457019136 +0300 Modify: 2020-12-28 21:01:30.457149265 +0300 Change: 2020-12-28 21:01:30.457149265 +0300 Birth: 2020-12-28 21:01:18.457019136 +0300 After reboot my laptop, parent PID and temporary directory are different. Anyway, the original issue remains even if I copy the main.cpp file to /tmp inside chroot and host procfs is not involved.
