Source: xrootd Version: 5.0.3-1 All binary packages built from xrootd except xrootd-server have descriptions that rely on the reader already having knowledge of what xrootd is. Each package's description should include a brief description of the overall xrootd project.
An example for xrootd-client might be: Description: Xrootd command line client tools This package contains the command line tools used to communicate with xrootd servers. . The xrootd-server package contains a root file system server and a cluster management server that provide a clustered file system. This description not only says that xrootd is a clustered file system, but it specifically identifies the package containing the more verbose description. Note, I am not an xrootd user, I just happened to see it under "New Packages" and wanted to know what it was. Finding the xrootd-related package that gave that information took more effort than it should have, as there were almost 200 new packages, and xrootd-doc was near the top, but xrootd-server was much farther down. It might also help to include the more verbose description in xrootd-doc as well as xrootd-server. ...Marvin
