Hi, The mdadm version in buster suffers from Bug#960132, which a reporter assessed at the serious level. It was fixed version 4.1-6, but the version 4.1-8 that is currently in testing includes many new translations and is probably a better candidate. I believe it is my responsibility per section 3.1.2 of the Developer's Reference to bring this matter to your attention. Thanks for your hard work on maintaining the stable release!
