Allow me to make another assertion to ensure that I understand
correctly.

I still can't reproduce this; when I have a that plugin installed, it
works without prompting.

The reason I asked, is because you said you "removed the setting which
prompts me"; well the setting may actually be the cause of the
prompting, that is not what it is supposed to do.

I can reproduce the first part, about it being recreated.

Unfortunately, this might be a bug in the plugin, forcing the
existence of that action for every user.

As reasonable as it is to say that firefox shouldn't get confused by
buggy plugins/extensions/modules, that isn't possible with the current
implementation and can't be easily changed.
