for some purposes, having a vcard file per contact could have advantages. There are two main reasons I could see currently: * Easier history per user (and easier to see "who changed it last") * Easier to work with standard unix tools on addresses (e.g. "give me the subset of people who have this and that organization") Of course, the unified file also has advantages, so it would be great to have both and have an option to switch (or even, hey, to have multiple places, and if the place is a dir, it's multiple files, and if it's a file, it's only one file, and have an location indicator with the addresses).
