Importing in a local calender works for me, too. I use davical as caldav server, thunderbird < 78 worked well with it.
Please follow the steps that are collected within the Debian wiki for narrow down issues. https://wiki.debian.org/Thunderbird#Bug_Reporting_.2F_Issues I'm quite sure you have one ore more Add-on installed locally that causing such problems. Or Apparmor is blocking some write access somewhere or your proxy is making trouble somehow.
I tried with --safe-mode, but the problem persists. I didn't change anything on Apparmor. The davical server is behind a reverse proxy. But as it worked before, I consider this problem a regression. Best regards, Robert
