just an update on this package. DynDNS removed the free dynamic DNS service. To use the service now, one might need to create a new account and pay for the DynDNS Pro as states below:

" However, it seems they are still supporting legacy API requests such as Update [1] as it is made on the code. Note that few parameters on the API are deprecated and ignored. Moreover, functionality to other services are not working: " NOTE: as of 2010, the support for sites of hnorg, noip is probably non-working due to changes in the interfaces. Please use only dyndns at this time. " Finally, Dyn recommends to use their own dynamic update client [2] or to use another Perl script for that matter: `ddclient` [3,4]. It seems `ddclient` is covering a wide range of Free/Non-free domains services and it is actively getting updates. `ddclient` is already packaged in Debian and it supports legacy API updates as well called ‘dyndns1’ protocol. IMHO, making efforts on `ddclient` package seems to make more sense than `dyndns` Hope that helps.
