And why don't you mention something like this in the original bug report?

Anyway, yes, if you remove resolvconf, you typically need to reboot.
The postrm of resolvconf actually tells you that, if I'm not mistaken.

This is the debconf message:

Template: resolvconf/reboot-recommended-after-removal
Type: note
_Description: Reboot recommended
 The removal of the resolvconf package may have resulted in some
 information about name servers becoming unavailable. To correct
 this problem it is recommended that the system be rebooted.




Has nothing to do with systemd though.
