Hi,
if you want to try the patches I've made in a really simple manner, you
can try downloading:
http://www.hardeman.nu/~david/files/patches/debian/fix-cryptroot
It's a shell script, so make it executable after you've downloaded it
and then run it as root. It will install the two cryptroot files under
/etc/mkinitramfs and divert /usr/share/initramfs-tools/scripts/functions
before installing a new version of it.
After you've run the script, you need to make sure that you have an
entry for your encrypted root partition in /etc/crypttab and then update
the failing initramfs by running update-initramfs -c -u -t -k <kernel-version>.
Oh, and you should of course look trough the above script before you run
it as root...just in case I'm malicious or just plain incompetent, as it
could do nasty things....
Re,
David
PS
If you do try it, please let me know what the results are...
