Package: coreutils
Version: 5.2.1-2
Severity: normal

Example:
$ find /test
/test/
/test/dir
/test/dir/file
/test/file

$ cp -sR /test /tmp/
Works as expected

$ cp -sR ../test/ /tmp/
cp: `/tmp/test/dir/file': can make relative symbolic links only in
current directory
cp: `/tmp/test/file': can make relative symbolic links only in current
directory

Same problem with woddy as well. fileutils 4.1-10
