As discussed in https://lists.debian.org/debian-python/2020/07/msg00039.html , Debian 11 (Bullseye) plans to drop the existance of unversioned python (i.e. /usr/bin/python) in the default installation. Your package has scripts that directly calls /usr/bin/python , which would be unavailable by the time Debian 11 releases. Please explicitly use /usr/bin/python2 or /usr/bin/python3. -- Regards, Boyuan Yang
