Dear Xeno, neither John Scott nor I could reproduce the announced bug.
Please can you check whether falkon (in its last release) is really the reason of the crash you experienced? Please allow me to cite an anecdote: I have been recently disappointed by a GUI application which froze my desktop more than once. However I discovered that the freeze occured no longer when I booted a kernel with version 4.19 rather than the versions > 5 which are currently available. It appeared that the bug is somewhere in the X server, which is not stable enough with Intel graphic cards, since Kernel version 5; things are getting better, but on my computer, they are not yet fixed: if I boot under kernel 5.6.0, launching an application which demands much from xserver freezeq th desktop, while under kernel 4.19 it does not. You can heve more information at https://linuxreviews.org/Linux_Kernel_5.5_Will_Not_Fix_The_Frequent_Intel_GPU_Hangs_In_Recent_Kernels about those fuzzily triggered crashes. I shall close this bug report, please feel free to reopen it if you can provide an evidence that falkon (and no other background process) is triggering the bug.
