Fedora is carrying this patch:

https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/autofs/blob/master/f/autofs-5.1.6-make-bind-mounts-propagation-slave-by-default.patch

In addition to making 'slave' the default, it also adds a 'shared' mount
option.
