Hi! I too have noticed the problem. However, the problem is not due to udev but due to hal, which precedes usbmount in /etc/udev/rules.d. The hal scriptlet calls hal-umount.sh, which umounts anything using the block device removed. A month seems to have passed since the original bug report - Do the developers have a solution?
